BLOG: Can games help students and teachers in the classroom?

As technology is advancing and gamified learning is becoming more common in the classroom, the question can be asked to whether it helps or hinders learning. As always the answer is it can help when used in the right way:

-Students are digitally familiar : Today’s students enjoy using games and technology as part of their daily lives , this allows it to fit in seamlessly in the classroom, great for teachers!

-Immediate feedback: Automated and instant feedback such as sounds or positive reinforcement through scoring, helps students understand where they need to improve and specifically on which part.

-Encouraging repeat attempts: Game points and rewards give a sense of ongoing progress and achievement. This encourages repeated play and a want to try again and again.

-Enhancing understanding: Unlike static learning, the interactivity and immersion can develop a sudents's understanding.
